“It’s extremely difficult to get these jobs because you can’t get a job on a ship unless you have seaman’s paper’s, and you can’t get seaman’s papers unless you have a job on a ship. There had to be a way to break through the circle, and this ship was the one that arranged it for me.” » Paul Auster
I have just started to preliminary plan an exploration voyage to Stewart Island, Fjordland and as a highlight to the Auckland Islands for January February 2020, by contacting Ngāi Tahu as the guardians of these last wildernesses on our planet.
We are open to any suggestions how to make this voyage a successful reality, Idealy we would like to contribute in some way towards climate protection or research . If you are interested then you may find one or all of the following options may suit you:
Early February 10 days on Stewart Island
mid February: 16-18 days Stewart island towards Auckland Islands and back to Stewart island ( DOC permit depending)
Early March: 14 days Stewart island towards Fjordland.
There are also opportunities to help me sail Dona Catharina down the east coast early January and back up the west coast in March towards the Bay of Island.
Update: planing is in full swing. Bunks are filling. There are still spaces available, but you must be prepared to face some of this:
Please let your friends know so we can fill all bunks. This is important to make this voyage affordable .
